Have a healthy snack before you eat a Thanksgiving dinner. You will most likely overeat when going to Thanksgiving dinner with a stomach which is empty. When you have a little to eat before Thanksgiving dinner, you will feel full faster and will not eat so much.

To add some flavor to your meals, fresh herbs are a wonderful option. You can grow them yourself in your kitchen, or you can buy them fresh from your local farmers market or grocery store. Adding herbs to your meals will add a ton of flavor to your cooking.

Try to avoid using food as a friend when you are eating healthy. Food should not be considered a friend. Do not eat to make yourself feel better when you are sad or upset. Find someone that you can talk to that will help you through your problems. Get into this habit and you can avoid weight gain from comfort eating.
