It's important to get a professional diagnosis of your tinnitus before you start treating it. Many of the symptoms of tinnitus can also be indicative of more serious issues. Moreover, if the diagnosis isn't tinnitus, then you'll need to medicate or treat it in a different manner than you would tinnitus.

The ringing in your ears caused by tinnitus can keep you up late at night, but technology can help. There are many white noise generators which provide a variety of sounds for you to listen to, from a rainstorm to nighttime in a forest, which can drown out the sound in your ears.

Avoiding caffeine at bedtime is an excellent strategy to employ if you're having trouble falling asleep due to tinnitus symptoms. To begin with, a caffeine allergy can actually cause tinnitus symptoms in healthy individuals, but it will also keep you awake and consciously focused on your tinnitus symptoms at bedtime.

Stress can make tinnitus seem worse, so keep stress levels under control by staying organized and de-cluttering your life. Look for a new job which allows you to work the way you want to work, and start spending more low-key, relaxed time with those you love.
