Title: It’s time to celebrate family!


CONTEXT

Some say that now is a difficult time to be a family – that it is harder these days to stay connected and to remain close as a family. Too often, family members live further apart from each other, be it for work or study. Creating quality time together seems squeezed out by the pressures of modern life and an "always on" culture privileging the virtual world over enjoying the company of the people closest to you.

Well, at Microsoft, we disagree. We think that today, thanks to technology that brings us closer together it has never been a better time to be a family! Family also means different things to different people. So whether yours is a nuclear family, social family, or global family, help us celebrate!


BRIEF

Through a video or animation, show us how there has never been a better time to be a family!

From a fun-filled all-night-long virtual golf game with three generations competing against each other to being able to see your newborn nephew even if he lives on the other side of the planet to sharing pictures of your favourite home-cooked food across networks with envious friends, eager to befriend your mum for their share, think about the happy time we experience together as a family, how distance no longer separates us, how we feel when we are all sharing together across generations, the little rituals and quirkiness that make us family...

Be creative and inspire people to be part of a real cultural movement to celebrate families across the globe with your exciting, fun, surprising or emotional story.

FORMAT: Maximum 60 seconds video or animation.


Winning Criteria:

We are looking for entries that not only celebrate families but show us how there has never been a better time to be a family. You should have a powerful story to tell and a high standard of creative execution to bring your story to life. Your entry should focus on a strong, emotional, fun, surprising story more than on the techology behind it.


GUIDELINES

- Your entry will be primarily promoted in Asia so please use Asian characters or actors whenever possible and relevant.

- You do not need to include the Microsoft logo or to mention Microsoft. We are looking for unbranded entries

- There is no requirement to show technology of any kind, however if you do show computers, software, email services, social networks, mobile phones or applications, please use Microsoft compatible products and services such as Skype, MSN, Hotmail or Facebook.

The winning entry will be amplified right across our own ‘family’ - the Microsoft and partners' network - with over 6Billion potential views.

INFRINGEMENT NOTICE

Contestants undertake to submit creative and original works.

Contestants warrant that they hold all rights upon submitted works and warrant that the use of the works in the contest does not violate any third parties' rights.

Contestants acknowledge that in case of breach of these rules, the organizer shall be entitled to deem their participation and the prize granting as void.
